The current pandemic of swine flu in Mexico has been much
covered in the press and has caused much panic and distress to
travellers all across the world. Due to the potentially deadly
nature of the disease countries are being ever more cautious on
letting people in and out and in line with this most airlines
have postponed or cancelled outgoing flights to Mexico and the
surrounding regions.
This outbreak has been dreadful news not only for the people
affected by it but for the people who had planned the trip of a
lifetime to Mexico. Such travellers range from Honeymooners to
explorers who had planned such trips for months, even years only
to be told that there trip had been cancelled. Travellers who
had already made it to Mexico are also being recalled by their
countries with some even being held in quarantine as a
precautionary measure to avoid the disease spreading and
infecting further countries. Although this pandemic has
destroyed the holiday hopes of many travellers there is some
compensation for people who have had their plans scampered.
Major holiday providers such as Thomas Cook are offering
travellers who are affected the chance to choose an alternative
holiday to another destination of the same cost or the
opportunity to claim a full refund, although this may come as
little consolation to people who had booked specific time off
work and had their heart set on a dream trip to Mexico!
Unexpected outbreaks such as this disease highlight the need for
every traveller to have sufficient cover such as holiday or
travel insurance.
Often the best value for money cover can be <a

travel insurance</a> for any traveller planning a number of
