WHO: Preparing for the Second Wave: Lessons from Current Outbreaks
As of April 2009 the swine flu A/H1N1 virus infection has taken hold in several countries. swine flu virus has the potential to mutate or evolve to be passed between humans in the future, and so become a pandemic, swine flu is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs but human cases can be transmitted in the same way as seasonal flu. Antiviral drugs are available which can effectively prevent and treat the infection. Preventive measures are of utmost importance to prevent spread.
